We are dedicated to providing enriching, authentic experiences; traditional comfort; relaxed and elegant surroundings; healthy cuisine with a twist; and genuinely warm and friendly service. We are excited to be your starting point for adventure, exploration, personal discovery, inspiration and wellness in a spectacular, natural and beautiful setting. We are engaged in our community; support our local economy and enterprise; celebrate our local arts and culture; and share the charms and treasures of our destination.

Guests staying with us enjoy the authentic and charming irregular nature of the layout of an 18th-century building but we recognize that guests with limited mobility may experience difficulties with the natural historic character of the property. Full of period charm, each of our four gorgeous rooms feature designer fabrics, treasured antiques, plump pillows, large comfy beds, in room entertainment, stylish and contemporary en-suite bathrooms and luxurious products to pamper yourself with.

We have taken great care to preserve the original features of our four guest bedrooms and have reused, whenever possible, any old material that we had to remove in order to add en-suite bathrooms and individual decks. Our rooms combine the best of old and new, giving the rooms a welcoming, contemporary feel with an attention to detail that only a boutique B&B can offer.

Complementing our guest rooms are several living areas with roaring fireplaces or wood stoves, a breakfast room and an enclosed porch. Outdoors there are a deck to enjoy the views, a fire pit and several seating areas in our gorgeous gardens. Our New Durham bed and breakfast is open year round and we invite you to visit our area in all of the seasons.

Top of the Ridge Farm Bed & Breakfast started out as a center chimney Cape in the second half of the 18th century (likely around 1760). The original property comprised at least 100 acres and was sold to Durell Stevens by one of the Libby brothers who lived next door. The structured was converted to a Colonial and Federal style farmhouse in 1810 with the removal of the central chimney (although the original foundation can still be seen in the basement), the addition of breeding stables and a tack room. Unfortunately, the original barn was lost many years ago to a fire. You can find the stones of Durrell Stevens and other members of the family in the private graveyard at the back of the property. We are fortunate to be in a great location and on an unpaved country road with limited traffic. We currently have about 6 acres of gorgeous gardens and wooded areas with the most amazing views of Mt. Washington and the surrounding mountains.
