There is so much to do in this wonderful area, from skiing to hiking to paddle boarding, to shopping and attending a county fair. But we’d not be a bit surprised if you chose to stay in and relax by the fireplace or in one of our private or common areas. If you want to explore our surroundings, here are some ideas to get you started.
OSG Paintball, Barnstead | The #1 rated paintball field in New England is just 5 minutes away. For an alternative afternoon of fun, why not? (3.8 mi)
Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, Weirs Beach | Catch the one or two-hour excursions along the western shore of Lake Winnipesaukee for a totally vintage experience on board of the restored coaches. (28 mi)

New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Loudon | Motor junkies, this is the place for you. This is the largest sports facility in New England, hosting professional racing series, race weekends, racing schools and events. (35 mi)
This marvel of 19th century technology and modern innovation is an exhilarating (and slightly hair-rising) voyage up to one of the most iconic and scenic summits in the State. (93 mi)
Maple Syrup (March)
March is the sweetest month around here! Every weekend you’ll be able to visit one of the several sugar shacks in the area, learn how that divine liquid is made and stock it up for the year.
Farmers’ Markets (May – September)
With the good season, open-air markets are all around us in their freshness and goodness, pick one (or more) for each day of the week. Ask us to recommend our favorites.
Fruit picking (June-October)
Reconnect with nature and discover how it feels to choose and pick your own fruit: blueberries, strawberries, peaches, cherries, pears, apples and more. Our neighboring farms have them all.
Independence Day (July)
We would love you to come and celebrate with us! Events and firework displays will dot the surroundings, but your Innkeeper Gino will do his best to beat them all and leave you mesmerized while sitting on our very back porch!
Deerfield Fair (September)
Agricultural fairs are so much fun, and from June to October there are several in the area, but Deerfield is the oldest tribute to the state’s rural and farming heritage: performances, pig scrambles, horse shows, demolition derby, great rides, delicious food!
It’s a fact: people travel from all over to admire nature’s spellbinding displays of warm colors. Ask us to recommend the most scenic local spots (although you will find quite a few in our own backyard).
Ice Castles (Winter)
Ice caves, frozen waterfalls, archways, caverns, slides and tunnel-shaped glaciers: fairy tales come to life. The award winning frozen attraction is located in North Woodstock.
