About the Property
Our New Hampshire bed and breakfast sits on six acres of gardens, lawns, and trees, offering a serene retreat. Guests can relax on decks during summer or cozy up by the outdoor fire pit or indoor fireplace in winter. The 18th-century building’s irregular layout adds to its authentic charm. Each of the four rooms features designer fabrics, antiques, comfortable beds, in-room entertainment, and modern en-suite bathrooms. We’ve preserved original features and repurposed materials for en-suite baths and private decks. Additional amenities include living areas with fireplaces, a breakfast room, and an enclosed porch.
Originally established as a center chimney Cape in the late 18th century, likely around 1760, Top of the Ridge Farm Bed & Breakfast boasts a rich history steeped in New Hampshire’s heritage. Over the years, the property underwent significant transformations, evolving into a Colonial and Federal style farmhouse by 1810 under the ownership of Durell Stevens. Despite the loss of the original barn to a fire, remnants of its past remain, including the visible foundation of the farmhouse’s chimney in the basement and a private graveyard housing the stones of Stevens and his family.
Situated on an unpaved country road with limited traffic, our New Hampshire inn offers a prime location. Spread across approximately six acres, our property features stunning gardens, wooded areas, and breathtaking views of Mt. Washington and the surrounding mountains. Guests can easily access a variety of activities including hiking, skiing, boating, fishing, shopping, and more.
Top of the Ridge Farm also offers tailored elopement packages for couples seeking an intimate ceremony in the tranquil hillsides of New Hampshire. With picturesque settings including an expansive deck, birch tree clusters, and a roaring fireplace in the Inglenook room, couples can exchange vows amidst stunning backdrops. The inn specializes in small gatherings, with a maximum guest capacity of 8, ensuring an intimate and personalized experience for every couple.
