About Top of the Ridge Farm

We’ve taken great care to preserve the original features of our New Hampshire accommodations and have reused materials that we removed when adding en-suite baths and private decks. Complementing our guest rooms are living areas with roaring fireplaces or wood stoves, a breakfast room and enclosed porch.

Our History
Top of the Ridge Farm Bed & Breakfast started out as a center chimney Cape in the second half of the 18th century (likely around 1760). The original property comprised at least 100 acres and was sold to Durell Stevens by one of the Libby brothers who lived next door. The structure was converted to a Colonial and Federal style farmhouse in 1810 with the removal of the central chimney (although the original foundation can still be seen in the basement), the addition of breeding stables and a tack room. Unfortunately, the original barn was lost many years ago to a fire. You can find the stones of Durrell Stevens and other members of the family in the private graveyard at the back of the property. We are fortunate to be in a great location and on an unpaved country road with limited traffic. We currently have about 6 acres of gorgeous gardens and wooded areas with the most amazing views of Mt. Washington and the surrounding mountains.

Our Location
Our New Hampshire inn offers the perfect boutique farm stay and gateway to amazing activities in any season, whether at one of the numerous lakes, the mountains, the ocean or many of the quaint local towns. You are never far away from a wide variety of New Hampshire activities, from hiking, snowmobiling, skiing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, to shopping, antiquing, exploring historic sites, or leaf peeping, just to name a few. You may prefer to relax in the inviting common area next to the fire or outside on our large deck overlooking the fields and the mountains.
